Our water based fluorocarbon emulsions are specially developed to give an excellent alcohol-, water- and oilrepellency to papers, non wovens, carpets and textile fabrics. Applied on textiles our fluorocarbon emulsions give a soft touch and an outstanding color fastness.
The fluorocarbon (perfluoralkylacrylate) films which are formed during the drying of the fluorocarbon emulsion, do have an extremely low surface tension. If after the drying additional heat is transferred to the film, the perfluoralkylacrylate will get orientated, which results in an even lower surface tension.
Due to the fact that this surface tension is lower then the surface tension of alcohol, oil and water, the film will repel these liquids very easily.
